Altos AS2500 SATA SSD comes with standard 2.5 inch form factor and SATAIII 6Gb/s (backward compatible with SATA II and I) delivers read and write performance up to 550 megabytes per second and 500 megabytes per second respectively (MB/s). The power consumption, in average is 50x lower than traditional 3.5” hard drives.
Advanced Flash Management and Reliability
Altos AS2500 SSD adopts Flash most advanced technology, includes Bad Block Management feature to prevent data being stored into the black block that caused data loss, further improved the data reliability; TRIM feature to track the unused data block and remove permanently for more spacing to save more data; Smart (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) feature to self-detect its health and report potential failures; Over-Provision feature that offers more space for the controller to manage P/E cycles which enhances the reliability and endurance.
Altos AS2500 SATA interface also offers the option for the low power mode to be initiated by Host (HIPM=Host Initiated Power Management) or Device (DIPM=Device Initiated Power Management); the Secure Erase feature allows SSD controller to erase its storage blocks and return to the default setting and lastly, Write Protect feature applies the mechanism to prevent data from being written to ensure consistency.
